Crafty Time

So I try really really hard not to get onto my Pinterest account too often.  It can be fun but addicting (which can turn into a lot of time wasted-at least for me). But every once in a while I need a project, an idea, or help. This time I needed to find something to replace my Valentine's Day wreath, so I thought something for St.Patrick's Day would be fun. It won't be up very long because Easter is coming in March this year but I can enjoy it for a little bit.

Last night B went to bed by eight and Jared needed to do some work in the den, so I vegged out on the couch watching Harry Potter and crafting. I was able to put this baby together in an hour and a half. I was thrilled to start and finish a project so quickly, watch on of my favorite movies, and just have me time. It was glorious. AND I love how it turned out.

I got the idea from Pinterest which lead me to this gem. The tutorial says to use a wire hanger...to save myself the grief of taking one apart (which I did once), I just purchased a foam wreath from JoAnns.
This is now in my entry way and I'm in love. The cute subway art I found for free and printed at Costco. Thanks to the lovely ladies who were so willing to share!

Being able to just sit and craft was so relaxing. I think I will need to take time for it more often!

Random Updates

Life just keeps going as we know it. I wouldn't say we live exciting lives but we're happy. February came and went in a blink of an eye. We did celebrate Valentine's Day. We were also able to make it back to the park a few times...it's tricky here in Seattle with the rain. We've discovered B's favorite activity at the park is the tower of rope on a merry-go-round.

B still loves story time in his book corner....

We have had some crazy bed-head around here. The minute I got him out of his crib I thought of Syndrome from The Incredibles...Am I the only one to see the resemblance (of the hair)?

A couple of weeks ago B and I both came down with a really nasty week-long cold. I learned to prop him up on the floor with a pillow for nap time so he could breathe.

And we've been practicing with real sippy cups (not the ones with the straw that he's been using) and utensils:

He's also learned to climb in the last few days. (Ask me how excited I am about this.)

But with all the crazies of a one year old, he's still SO cute-

I think we'll keep him.
