This is all very new to me. I’ve never been a good journal writer or story teller. But in an attempt to keep family and friends better updated with our lives, I have succumbed to a blog. I make no promises for great stories, pictures, etc...but I do promise to try to keep anyone who cares up to date as often as possible.
I just never thought I had many interesting things to say, so I figured no one would want to read about our day-to-day activities. But recently I've been reflecting on how each day-to-day activity is really a precious moment. When asked how my day is, how often do I just say, “Good” and keep going? When in reality, I should be reflecting on my day…Did I do anything out of the ordinary? Did I turn something ordinary into something extraordinary? Did I make that phone call or send that letter I’ve been meaning to? Did I help someone out? Did I learn something new today? Did I make sure to give my sweet husband a great welcome home after a long day of work? Each moment is a gift. Maybe life is not as mundane as we make it out to be. Maybe we need to remember that a cloudy day can be followed by a sunny one and that each decision we make in each moment determines where we end up.
So, I resolve to find the joy in what may seem like normal moments. And I promise not to post about every single detail of our lives. (Who wants to read THAT much?) But I will try to share what’s happening with us, our moments and our adventures. Read as much or as little as you want (I’ll never know) and I hope you enjoy. ☺
